Consolata Njoki’s story begins in Kenya, where she grew up in a family that valued faith, hard work, and looking out for one another. Like many students in the country at the time, her education was disrupted by strikes and uncertainty. Instead of letting the system hold her back, she chose another path. She studied business, earned a diploma, and then set her sights on something bigger. That dream took her to Australia.
Consolata Njoki in Australia
Arriving in a new country is never easy. Consolata Njoki faced culture shock, an unfamiliar rhythm of life, and the challenge of finding her place. One of the biggest differences she noticed was in aged care. In Kenya, grandparents are cared for within families; in Australia, the responsibility often falls to institutions. That contrast shaped her career path and eventually led her to work as a lifestyle coordinator in a retirement community.
In Australia, Consoh (nickname) has earned a prestigious background in Business Administration and Social Work. She worked in the aged care sector for 9 years and the COVID years were the most challenging. Now, she currently works in one of the leading hospitals in Sydney in the People and Culture directorate supporting both patients and workforce.
How Consolata Njoki Turned Struggles Into Purpose
Life as an international student came with its share of challenges. Housing, discrimination, and loneliness could have slowed her down, but Consolata Njoki turned those struggles into fuel for something bigger. She founded Inspire Y.G.—a platform dedicated to motivating and empowering the young generation. Through it, she encourages young people to pursue education, discover their purpose, and believe in themselves no matter how difficult the journey gets. As if that is not enough, Consoh decided to be the founder of the HAKIKI Foundation. The Swahili acronym HAKIKI stands for “Hamasisha Kizazi Kipya,” which translates to “Inspire Young Generation.” The Foundation is currently leading two projects: HAKIKI for Kids, which supports kids to complete their primary education, and Period Pride Project, which provides eco-friendly sanitary products to girls.
Awards and Recognition for Consolata Njoki
Her efforts didn’t go unnoticed. In 2017, she received the Young African Achiever Award in New South Wales. Later, the Australian Catholic University recognized her with the International Contribution Award. Still, awards are not what drive Consolata. What truly matters to her is the joy of seeing a young person gain confidence or watching an elderly resident feel valued and understood.
Faith at the Heart of Consolata Njoki’s Journey
At the heart of Consolata Njoki’s journey is faith. She openly credits God as her source of strength and sees her mission as one of service. That blend of spirituality and action makes her stand out—not just in Australia or Kenya, but anywhere her story reaches.
